Shades of Gray part 3

WOLFS LAIR PING1 ASHADES-OF-GRAY HEADER

With the passing of yet another week in 100 years behind Idaho, we have came to learn, that as much as we’d like, Twinky Flatts and its immediate area with all the so called advancements , have yet to pull their heads out of the LDS/Victorian butts. As much as I hate it now, my idea a few days ago of just having the word predator tattooed on my forehead makes sense. Since no matter where I do business, the first notion is, I must be ready to devour Little Red Ridding Hood. So might as well put it there and be done with it right? What else have we learned from this past week? No hangar space anywhere in the Tragic Valley, holding off the partial relocation of AyreWolf Aviation to this part of the Union nation. Of course, Cuzzin Gordon asked me the other day, why I’d even want too. His view that I will soon tyre of Idaho and pack and move to Utah anyway, so why go through all the crap with the FAA etc in moving the flyte op’s to Idaho? Gordon said that in his view that the same money invested in moving even part of AyreWolf Aviation to Idaho, could be used to expand the place we have at Bountiful SkyPark, and rebuild vintage Military warbirds and helo’s there. He went on to say that folks in Utah would better appreciate that in metro Utah than Idaho would. So my brain is draining in that vein. However; I have leased this joint in Buhl, I relocated to Idaho to do two things, get this radio thing running, and get to going toewing once again. So its a year here to see what sakes on those two. As I’d hate to think , I went through all of what I have for nothing here.

However even feeling bleak, and all, I can say the more I’m in Buhl the better. Maybe Twinky Flatts shits goose crap, about my operations and what it could mean, but folks here in Buhl are busting their six’s trying to help me, the Knytes and yes You the members of the AyreWolvez establish this radio station. So all is not lost yet.

Last as I bring this one down out of the clouds, do you think, that perhaps its really dangerous that Cable-One allows to run KSL-5’s news to run here? I mean true both KTVB and KTVB 24/7 runs here, but when you see the screeching hault to everything in Idaho, then you see what’s blooming in Utah , ya’ll gotta think, woa wait a minute, what’s so magic about Utah that Idaho can’t copy? Even excel at even more than Utah doing the same things to increase jobs? Let me know on the webs blog. Any mile need sleep.

Which state of the Mountain West is less Churchy?

Wolfs Lair Header 380x151

When looking at the environment that us as both Knytes as well as AyreWolvez operate in none the less my own personal firm, one needs to ask the obvious question, which state and/or area exemplifies the qualities better suited to us as a club as well as HCC? Which state would you think is more church bred conservative ? Utah or Idaho? While this may not be the best measurement of that it is one to take note of. In both states only two cities in Utah and one in Idaho is good enuff for a Hooters. While Hooters makes some of the best food I have ever flapped a lip over, heck Hooters makes this grilled ham and cheese sandwich that just melts in your mouth. Now that said, while she did not win , I was cheering the entrant in the Miss Hooters International pageant on Spike , retelecast on Friday morning here. But you have to ask is it just population or area attitude, that put Hooters in Boise rather than say one in Idaho Falls, Twin Falls or Pocatello? Sure I can see one in Boise since Boise has a slightly but not completely but a bit more lax staunch attitude towards such things than say Pocky, IF or TF. Do you think , if a franchise could be gleaned , that a Hooters could happen in Twin Falls? Can you see some of the local media, in either TF or Eastern Idaho, being approached to put up ads for a Hooters on their channels. If the reaction to just the Knytes and/or HCC etc, is any indication it would be a tuff sell to say the least. Which might explain the fact that since not everyone in IF, Pocatello, or the Tragic Valley, is that much prudish. Thus why those without thumping bibles are raring to advertise on AyreWolf FM/KDXC Fm radio here. Nuff said there. But think of this too, could that same prudish attitude, be kicking the butts and putting in ruts of local ad sales by our competitors. Now understand, and even I an sort of understand the reluctance of some not to get into some hairy biker, warbird restorer flyer, tow trucker kissing some honeys toes on an ad playing on the words Toe and TOW, that might be a reach. Even having a gal in Hazzard hot shorts might be a put off. Thus distancing us with local media executives, but that said, what is so outrageous about having a hot red head in biker leather pants, etc sitting on a hot bike or posing with a restored warbird, or even LexiBelle(my tow truck)? But you need to ask, and believe me, the folks in the decision department of Hooters looks at these attitudes when deciding on a new location. And it ain’t in TF, IF, or Pocatello. Might be why Coyote Ugly wont put in a bar in either state, but would consider Wyoming. Trust me here when I say I looked into such an idea.  The thing is, I have lived in many places, both partly big city such as Salt Lake City, Layton, even Tooele Utah. Plus various locations in Idaho. I have seen faster response in Boise than I have just about anywhere, and yet, if it were not for the high price of operation as well as affordable shop space and or living quarters, I’d be moved there as fast as LiL Lexi or big Lexi could go. While a relocate to Utah is still in the planning stages if no hangar space can be found, I’m very comfortable here in Buhl and if we as a club, through our radio operation can change brains, maybe our mission here wont be so strange or a waste. After all, was it not us in the mid 1970’s to mid 1980’s that got a few area stations to air TalkNet? Some here thought that was racy as well, but who did it? The Knytes. Should we really put up a rebel TV station as well? Depends on what goes down in a year or so here. But its not out of the question. As far as TV, right now its Wendover Utah that we are focusing on that. Since Wendover has 12 open TV frequencies to file on. Getting back on course here. Would you believe that Utah even though the moral majority religion here in this area is based there is more lax in prudish, clannish attitudes than eastern or the Tragic Valley of Idaho is? Its true. So do ever wonder why the big money jobs goes to Utah, rather than Idaho? Why the big money companies goes to Utah than Idaho? You be the judge. I’m still in gear for doing something with our local cable systems ad department for the running of SOA, but the way the club and I have been treated, it makes me very gun shy, of doing anything for Spike TV’s PowerBlock on the weekends or, next year on both TNT and ESPN’s running of NASCAR races. Now I’m sure there are many including the sales people at our local cable system, that say so what? Don’t these same people, realize that the club has members that would also advertise their companies on the local cable system if the same would get off their high horse and allow a bit of grit or spice to even the slightly unplugged ad of and for the club? I can think of at least 20 different area business’s that would fall in to put up ads on our local cable systems local interjections . Likewise at least 30 more that support the club. Yet I get a rather cold shoulder at the same cable systems sales office.

I will say this if a friend of mine who is going to be our point of national marketing and who used to work for RTV, will just get me FX’s ad phone number, we as a club can go coast to coast and I forget the local. Hey Andrew call me on this will ya?

The best buy ad wise for the AyreWolvez as well as AyreWolf Aviation Restoration, has to be RTV. Both Boise as well as nationally. Can you say a hot babe in a form fitting flight suit, by a Corsair? More on that department Friday afternoon. But again I ask you which state is more prude? Likewise: Which Mountain West States are more Churchy Conservative , Utah or Idaho? I’d like to hear from you, so on www.knytesofanarchy.webs.com in the forum I put that up, with open comments. Keep it in the Ayre.

How can you be too racy for Cable TV?

Wolfs Lair Header Whistling Death

How can anyone be too racy for Cable TV? With a cable system so touchy with content of its local advertisers, how can they even run such shows as SOA , Rescue Me, or even stretching this a bit but even Manswers?  Which brings me to another question, could such a TV show like Manswers be mass produced in this area of Idaho? Would Larry the Cable Guy be thrown off a stage here in Twin Falls? Now I know it can be partly done, since I did it on Pocatello’s cable access channel, which runs on Cable One in Pocky. Sure we stretched it allot, but thing is not only did I and KOA get away with it, we brought viewers to cable access that never watched it before. But if the local system , runs the shows, what is so bad about the local advertisers be allowed to run ads retaining that shows continuity? I’m not talking about all nude or even partly nude, heck I can’t even stand a bikini, or same gal in biker leather pants pitching the good of Hazzard Choppers, Dixie Towing, and of course and the only reason I’m even courting Cable One, the Knytes-of-Anarchy, on Sons Of Anarchy. However not to be totally shut out and we as a club can measure this, put an ad on say Utah’s Comcast, system, and see which gains us the most income and members. That being that, and its going to cost us up the ying yang, but, put an ad or two on FX nationwide. When FX asks why, we’ll tell them. But it’ll be a real slap in the face for some locals. When I see so many pitching buy local, and yet when you try, you damn near get the door shut in your face, you have to ask, does Cable-One in Twin even need ad dollars? I’ll let ya’ll know what I find out Friday.

Most people with normal thinking would grasp the idea that if a cable or other media outfit were needing advertising dollars and were blowing their own horn looking for those dollars, one would not have to jump through flames to get something on the tube. Granted I am sinking the majority of my personal ad dollars into everything RTV. Since its not only a better bargain, rate wise, but I get respect from them. Added to that their Idaho affiliate is willing to roll all the way down from the city of trees to shoot the ad. Yet our local cable system, as well as one other in our area is very skiddish. Granted I have on occasion went to them and never followed through. Mostly its not paying for the ad time, that’s the problem. The problem is; producing the ad itself. They told me my concept of an ad is too racy , okay fine, yet when I tell the cable bunch they can produce it, so it is within their standards , the response is have somebody else do it. My question do they even want my account? Do they not realize that if I’m on there and plugging the club, that the club members and sponsors will also buy time on Cable-One as well? Having a fit forming gal in leather sitting on the seat of a fresh built chopper or tricked out Harley saying, “ Want this? See these guys” Is out of line. It’s not the Duke look here at least on Cable One since Daisy is out of the comfort zone, for Cable-One, its Leather pants, heels and halter top, pitching Hazzard County Choppers. Mostly pitching membership for and of the Knytes-of-Anarchy, which is the living REAL version of the Sons. Which is the only, and I mean ONLY reason I’m even talking to Cable-One.  Otherwise I would not even be looking at dealing with a local station, or similar, since local to me has proven time and again a waste of my time. Our ads are no worse than Bert Harbaugh pitching his RV sales company in Wendell, or such, nor any worse that some of the ads from a local hot rod shop, yet we are held off. Then they suggest two alternates one I don’t like much, and one other that I can’t find a phone number for. My suggestion to Cable-One don’t ask for new advertisers if you can’t service them. Then they ask for money before the ad is produced. Do they think I’m that stupid? Fine, I’ll cough up the bread. Something tells me to find out the head cheese somewhere and talking to them, say Phoenix Arizona, at Cable-One’s HQ. I also wonder if the Boise half of Cable-One’s ad sales department would be so hard to deal with?

Just amazing, but again if I’m having this much trouble, maybe others are too. Might provide a opportunity for SAMCRO MC Idaho.

See ya’ll later.

Shades of gray or is that grey?

Wolfs Lair Header 83349160

Its one of THOSE weeks where check is slow getting here from HQ and of course I am feeling the delay. But with that, got an email from the outfit in Twin saying they reconsidered and were not going to rent out those back offices. Definition? They do not want to rent to us. The hidden meaning to this decision? They flat did not want to rent office space to a bikers club. Period. The mainstream mindset of those to those who ride as well as fly is not a personality that is well tame. The fear here is that hey lets not rent space to bikers and military aviators, all they’ll do is party hardy, raise cane and who knows the condition of our property afterwerds. So I have the sad duty to return the $1,500.00 back to the club, that is coming along with my own personal check from HQ. Not to cry though we have space , thanks to some advice from Explicit Ink, just two doors down from them, will be SAMCRO MCC Idaho’s office that yes will include our streaming as well as OTA radio station. Twin Fall's loss? Not so much , as Twin Falls has yet to fully pull its head out of its ass, to the degree that our style of broadcasting would be accepted. The real vengeance though? Like it or not, with 250,000 watts coming out of that stick on the pole on the north west side of the valley, will deliver in their ears, our kind of radio .

Okay got much done, Boise gets the roses this week for coming through. A Boise TV station, is also a RTV affiliate  that we are contracting to deliver the news that AyreWolf/SAMCRO Radio is on line and Over the air. Watch for the ad. Here is a slight slap in Twin Falls face. The TV station in Boise, will drive own to Buhl , shoot the ad, edit it and have a finished product for FREE. Simply because we have bought a full schedule, for both Airwolf and BlackSheep Squadron. Cable-One will get a snippet of that spot to run during SOA in September, but the station in Boise is willing to get a film crew camera truck and all the rest for free, yet the local yocals here in Twinky Flatts have glue on their feet as well as wants big bucks to shoot the ad. Truly amazing.

Swallowed something Monday , that is really kicking me in my belly. Had the trots most of the day yesterday and while a bit better, still feeling queezy. Don’t want to go far from the Wolf’s lair today since need to stay close to the toilet. Still getting a severe stiffy every place I go here in Buhl. Just all to great a honey that provides visual candy for an old pair of eyes. Keep it in the ayre.

Remember not everyone is a Confederate Marine!!

Wolfs Lair Header UCSMC BATTLE FLAG

In the distant past, buying advertising on TV at least on a network basis has been not only expensive but nearly impossible for a local or even regional enterprise. However, RTV –aka Retro TV is a different critter. The rates that RTV charges for a nationwide campaign is much less than most local area TV stations charge for even the most available off prime time ad placements. With that said I had an encounter with the local ad sales department of Cable-One here in Twin Falls. Simply because the local cable company runs SOA on Tuesdays on FX. Otherwise I would have never bothered with them. Now here is the clincher. Its not the paying for the ad placement itself but the production of the ad, that is being touted as having to be very tame. Despite that SOA runs after the prime time ,time frame, plus the fact that from border to border of Idaho , running a spot that is even a bit racy is not permitted. The question then needs to be asked, to retain continuity between SOA and us in both the Knytes as well as the AyreWolvez, how can you stay tame and still retain that continuity? Not to talk our local cable company out of running the show, but if your going to run a biker show, should you not then be willing to run an ad that’s within the same genre as the show itself? Its no wonder that Cable-One needs to feed itself on running promo ads for potential advertisers. It’s also a reason few if any call Cable-One directly to get ad business. If the way they treated me this morning is any indication of how they treat other business’s , its no wonder that Cable-One’s ad department needs to blow its own horn so much to gain that local ad revenue. Then they tell me that there is no local avails, during Ice Road Truckers, excuse me? According to the History Channel who runs IRT, there are 4 avails each hour or two per half   hour. Does our local ad reps not know of this? I called our local Harley dealer here, their response was that Cable-One has never contacted them to run ads on SOA. It’s no wonder that so many business’s in this area, have pledged that if we get our media werx running that they would buy in droves. Simply because we know our product, we know its reach , and we are not afraid to run a racy ad, simply because it might piss off the Mormon , or very(very) Conservative mindsets here. The next step is producing the ad. That in my next entry, but the big ? here is this if your going to blow your own horn, should you not be willing to do the job, of which you say you can do? If not , Cable-One, shut up. Like I said not everyone is a Confederate Marine, not everyone is a Knyte and fewer are AyreWolvez.

My opinion , I could be wrong.

When tripping tall cotton look for snakes.

Wolfs Lair Header KOA LOGO IC LOGO

When tripping through tall cotton, watch for snakes. Wise advice from Uncle Jessie Duke years ago in Hazzard. Not saying anything has changed in Buhl, in fact negotiations are under way to acquire another enterprise into the SAMCRO/AYREWOLF domain. Yet there still is the move with caution and care to make sure the rose has been trimmed of its thorns.

One once said that I was in the sights of someone that was contemplating kicking my ass. I say bring it. Never has happened yet , wont happen now. If I don’t take somebody down there’s plenty who will, both Knytes, AyreWolvez, as well as a few closely connected associates who don’t take prisoners but take lives, and seldom leave traces. Buhl has always been a fall back location for the club. Was in the mid 1980s when the club was founded, and even a few years before that , for just me. Buhl was where folks from Hazzard went to party, and get laid. I’m all to well known. And the few that don’t learn quickly, don’t piss me or the Knytes off. It does not go well for those who irritate the club. I’ve just about narrowed down some from MHI that have been a problem for me here, and there’s a very tragic awakening being planned, that will occur without much involvement by me. Just hope those with families have good life insurance for their children and wives and/or husbands. Nuff said.

It’s the first, need bed. Much to do today.
