They tell you to buy local, but can you?

WOLFS LAIR PING1 IN THE WOLFS EYES HEADER

If you listen to the promos on local area generated media, the main thrust is saying, buy from local business’s. They tell you to keep your buying dollars local, and help generate money for our local tax revenue income. Which is fine, and I do try to do that as much as possible. On most things I do buy local as far as parts for the trucks. But there are no or very few firms selling aircraft parts, more over doing much in the way of avionics. Trying to buy parts for a vintage military warbird restoration? Good luck. From beginning to completion it takes right at a year or better from airframe, basic construction to putting that angel of war back in the air. At a resell or final paycheck of over two million bucks, it don’t take no brain to figure out why, I gave up fixing trucks and took to military aviation warbird restoration. Yes I’m still a year or better of FAA certification on being able to do the work legally, more over at least a year to finishing where our big hanger. But in the meantime generating interest among military aviation enthusiasts is a path in sustaining such an enterprise. However for me and many of you here in the AyreWolvez its much more than the bird itself. I stand in front of a few every day at Airpower Unlimited, and wait for the vibrations of the spirits that reverb from these angels of the air. Their history, the theaters they flew through, the battles that they saw. Researching these events are what makes this organization rewarding. More over our youth branch as well as our RC Warbird branch. Seeing a scratch built mini bird lift off the tarmac is like a farmer seeing a thriving harvest from the smallest of seeds. So then this is us in the AyreWolvez. With that said getting out the word of our organization and its related parent group, the Sons of Confederate Veterans, – Knytes-of-Anarchy, the immediate concept is that we are a group more over even myself is looked upon as some sort of sex monger or something related to thereof. While I love see racy warbird nose art, or even a hot honey posing with one of our members aircraft , still many of us , as you our members know, are married, with children, either military retired or even reserve military, even some none military , but had a Father or parent who flew such and such aircraft. Such is the case with me. My father, served with the founder of the VMF214 BlackSheep, Pappy Boyington. More over did you know that Boyington was born in Idaho? The other member of my family that flew was my step brother. Who was lost MIA/POW in Vietnam. While because of a injury sustained in a vehicle accident was not allowed to serve in the Union Marines, I serve in my own way, through the Confederate Marines. Again getting that word out through local media has been a challenge to say the least. If you do find a TV station that will even consider airing such an ad, finding someone to produce that ad is the real challenge. So while, I’d like to buy local media, how can you when you constantly get the door not only shut , but slammed in your face? Now by all fairness , I take responsibility for upsetting some ad sales reps at Cable One’s Ad Department in Twin Falls. However that all was provoked by an image they had of things that happened way too long ago that was no longer germane to the current situation, or times. If those powers that be, could have just looked beyond the forest to see the trees, the outcome would have been much better. Does this mean that I’m ready to throw in the towel and rush back to Utah? Yes and no. If I could afford it, I’d be packing and hauling as fast as Big and LiL Lexi would go, radio station or no radio station. The no, is simply , that I relocated , yes by another blunder , but still relocated to western and even Idaho 6 years ago now. With that , I’m not willing to just quit. Things are going in the right direction right now. Granted at a turtles pace, but still moving in the forward direction. But if our area political as well as area commerce leaders, want to encourage local commerce and not buying online or out of state, they must start pulling their heads out of a Victorian rear ends. The era begs to say , Idaho is not, repeat NOT just a farming or retirement state. Its the mission of the AyreWolvez to make that happen .

Its my bed time, so see you in the PM.
